No. 1 - It is impossible to get to heaven this way.
For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law - Romans 3:28
No. 2 - These things could never save you.
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy… - Titus 3:5
No. 3 - Good works cannot save anyone.
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9
No. 4 - It is not our work that saves us but faith in Christ.
But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness - Romans 4:5
No. 5 - We cannot be saved by works AND God’s grace regardless of how good or well intended. God saves us by His grace ALONE.
But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace. - Romans 11:6
None of these things can save you. You can do nothing to earn eternal life. It is by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ ALONE that you are given eternal life.
and through Him (Christ) everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses. - Acts 13:39
The way to have eternal life is NOT found in what we do ourselves, but by having a perfect righteousness given to us. We receive this when we trust in the Lord Jesus Christ who took our sins on Himself and paid for them by His death on the cross.
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. - 2 Cor. 5:21
You do not receive eternal life by working for it or by trying to make yourself behave. You receive eternal life by believing the testimony God gave of His Son. Man’s destiny depends on man’s choice.
He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. - John 3:18
After you are saved, yielding to God brings love, joy, peace, and happiness into your life.
Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? - Romans 6:16
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. - Galatians 5:22,23
When we disobey God, He will discipline us but our punishment will never be hell. God deals with us as a father deals with his son.
My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD or loathe His reproof, For whom the LORD loves He reproves, Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights. - Proverbs 3:11,12
FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES." Hebrews 12:6
If we confess our sin He forgives us.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. - 1 John 1:9
God will never cast us out or lose us.
…the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out… all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. - John 6:37, 39; 10:28
Doesn’t it make sense to believe the One who came back from the dead, and trust Him for the payment of our sin? Why not do it now, and you can be sure of going to heaven when you die. He loves you. Right now, why not accept Him and the payment He has made for your sin, and you can KNOW you have eternal life.
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. - 1 John 5:13
Christ Died… That’s History
Christ Died for Me… That’s Salvation!
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. - John 3:16
Friend, if you would sincerely put your faith in Christ as the Lord who died for you and your sins, on the authority of God’s Word, you can KNOW you have eternal life.
If you are now trusting Christ alone for your salvation, you have become His workmanship, saved to do good works (Ephesians 2:10). You should read the Bible, tell others how to go to heaven, pray and fellowship with other believers.
